Technical education institutions in Rajasthan will adopt nearby villages from the next academic session to promote self-employment among the youth and women by imparting vocational education to them.

Minister of State for Technical Education Vasudeo Devnani, laying the foundation stone of Electronics Department in Women's Polytechnic College in Ajmer over the week-end, said each institution would adopt a village situated nearby and take the responsibility for its overall development.

Mr. Devnani said the expansion of technical education would pave the way for industrial development of the desert State. The number of seats for students in technical institutions had been recently increased to 3,000, including 600 for girls, he said while calling upon the students to maintain good quality of education.
