India Social Forum to hold Press Conference

The India Social Forum (ISF) is holding a press conference on November 3, 2006 at the Press Club in New Delhi to announce the start of the ISF that begins from November 9-13.
Date: Friday, 3rd November, 2006 Venue: Press Club, 1, Raisina Road, New Delhi Time: 12 noon After the Asia Social Forum in 2003 at Hyderabad and the World Social Forum in 2004 at Mumbai, the India Social Forum 2006 is being planned in Delhi during 9-13 November. More than 1000 organizations from India, Asia, Africa and Europe will organize their seminars, workshops, conferences, testimonies, public hearings, cultural shows, exhibitions and other activities on issues related with neo-liberal globalization, sectarian politics, casteism, patriarchy, war, militarization and other social issues. 75,000 people are expected to participate. The Opening and Closing plenaries of the India Social Forum will be addressed by prominent persons from India, South Asia, Palestine, and Africa. The cultural groups and performers of India, Nepal and Africa will also be present. There will be Youth and Children Forums in which large number of youth and children will gather.
