Sri Sri, a universally revered spiritual and humanitarian leader, believes that world leaders must keep the promises they made at the Millennium Summit in 2000. These promises, translated into the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) can only be achieved if we all participate and raise our voices against poverty and a peaceful world.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was born in 1956 in southern India. He is the founder of the international Art of Living Foundation that aims to relieve stress at an individual level, and to relieve disease and violence at a societal level. Traveling to nearly 40 countries a year, the leader conveys one simple message: love and wisdom can prevail over hatred and distress.

In 1997, Sri Sri founded the International Association for Human Values to foster human values, as well as spearhead sustainable development projects around the world.

Sri Sri is known for developing specific breath techniques to relax the mind. With these practical tools to create a world free of stress he participated in peace negotiations and counseling in conflict zones around the world. His expertise in bringing warring factions to the negotiating table in areas such as Kosovo, Sri Lanka and Kashmir is widely acknowledged.
